The Simple Life of a Baghag

Last 080808, my brother-in-law, Ricky wed the love of his life, Rhea in a simple but elegant wedding at Our Lady of Consolation Parish in Tierra Pura Subd. It was a wonderful day. Family and friends were there to celebrate this union and we're all truly happy. We've been preparing for this day (the family) for more than a year and we're just too glad that everything turned out great as planned and envisioned by the couple. I represented one of the ninang (an aunt based in the U.S. who can't make it to the event) and guess what? I was paired with Dr. Hernando Perez! Yes! the very controversial former Secretary. * wink * social climbing wannabe me hahaha!

But during the short period of time I was with the guy, I find him nice and the guy's soft-spoken pala! Here are some pictures of wedding ceremony:

The wedding reception was held at the Grand Terrace in Commonwealth, Q.C. The venue is quite small compared to hotel ballrooms but perfect for a small, intimate parties. The food was great also. I enjoyed being sitted in the VIP table with the principal sponsors because the food was served to us. No need to fall in line in the buffet table, lol! The wedding program was short but entertaining. Thanks to the wonderful event coordinators from Angels Wink and the program host, Atom. Here are more pictures of the reception:

How's everybody doing? I know I have been neglecting my blog "duties" but I have so much work to do in the office... hay... kakapagod talaga. Much as I want to blog every night, my body would not cooperate as I was too tired from a hard day full of meetings, turn-overs and adjusting to a new office environment.

Anyways, last weekend hubby and I hit the malls, SM North Edsa (it's 3-day sale there!) and Trinoma. From the sale, I was able to snag 3 tops from Giordano and 2 from Chocolate Clothing Company. From Trinoma naman, I was able to convince hubby to get me that Kenneth Cole Bag i've been eyeing for quite some time now. So, I went home very happy with my loots plus extra bonus the bag I got from Kenneth Cole. I'm one happy baghag *wink* *wink*.





Tomorrow, i'll be on leave. It's my BIL and his lovely fiancee, R's wedding and i'll stand in for one of the ninang who can't make it tomorrow. We're all excited for tomorrow's event. We all know how hard the couple prepared for this special day and we're just so happy for them. TO R & R, Best Wishes and COngratulations!! We love you both :)

It was my youngest brother's birthday last thursday. He treated us to dinner at Heaven N' Eggs in Trinoma. The food was great! Plus they gave us complimentary waffles and nachos. Yummy! We had coffee at Figaro after dinner to cap the night off.

To my Bro, Happy, Happy Birthday! Thanks for a wonderful dinner! I wish you all the best in life. Take Care always because you know how much I freak out when you're sick and when you are not home yet! Even if you're in your early twenties now, you're still my baby brother! Remember that ok? Love you, 'toy!

As i previously posted here, I wasn't able to go home to Laguna to visit my mom in the cemetery as what I have been doing the past years. I have a terrible case of cough and hubby said no to my plan of going home. So, I was sad because that was the first time "i'm not with my mom" on Mother's Day. I just said a silent prayer for her and promised that i will give her a visit during my scheduled trip to Laguna by the end of them month. I am also working on a special tribute for my mom which I plan to post here soon. Just wait and see, ok? :)

I didn't let my loneliness for my mom kept me from enjoying this special day. You see, i received quite a lot of messages greeting me Happy Mother's Day even if i'm not yet a mother. They said that it doesn't matter because I am practically the "mother" of my siblings since mom died almost 11 yrs. ago. Kakataba naman ng puso noh? I just hope that I'll be able to experience assuming the role of a mother soon.

Anyways, i joined my in-laws for lunch at Cabalen Restaurant together with the family of my soon-to-be sister in law and her new baby, Chloe, which by the way was born on my birthday :) We had fun eating the whole time while making chikahan. This is a long overdue post. But still I want to share this with you guys. My family and I troop to Tagaytay one Sunday morning for some sight seeing and also to try out Josephine's as my friends were urging me for the longest time to go there and try it out. My Dad was here in Manila during that time so I took the opportunity to bring him there. He hasn't been able to visit other places aside from the usual trips to Manila for his check-ups since he's having a hard time walking na rin. So, I thought it's the right family bonding time as well.

We left Manila at around 9 in the morning and while we were driving thru SLEX, heavy downpour of rains greeted us. We were quite disappointed as it would be difficult to enjoy Tagaytay when it's raining except of course that would mean the place would be foggy and cold which, by the way, we love. Surprisingly, the sun is up when we reached Tagaytay. We then proceeded to our destination, Josephine's, as we were all very hungry since it's almost lunchtime na. We ordered a lot and of course the specialty of the house, nilagang bulalo! Yummy!




After eating, we took some time off to have photo ops at Josephine's Garden where the view of Taal Volcano is spectacular!




I just love Josephine's! Not only for the good food but most importantly, because of the warm, homey atmoshphere this restaurant is giving to its customers. The place is beautiful and have lots of photo ops area for picture-obssesed people like us hehehe. Here we are by the garden...





Before we left, the staff was busy setting-up the place for a wedding later in the afternoon. So, what do you expect?! More picture taking for us!




We planned to have coffee and dessert at Cafe Breton but since my Dad was not feeling well, we decided to just head back home after our lunch. We had a short stopover at Total station to visit the comfort rooms and to have a quick snack at their coffee shop. Got home at around 4:30, tired but super happy and enjoy :) I love out of town trips with my family!

My Dad is here in Manila for his monthly check-up scheduled next week. I want to take advantage of this and now i'm planning for our family summer activities with our him. You see, my dad had a stroke more than a decade ago and due to that, his walking was affected and he never got back to his normal pace. Especially now that his getting older, he's more "nahihirapan" walking that's why we usually have a wheelchair with us whenever we go malling.

So everytime he comes here for his monthly check-up, we want to make sure that we spend more time with him since this is our only chance to do it considering we all work here in Manila. So this weekend, we are planning a trip to the mall probably to watch a movie (my Dad loves going to the movies) after his Ultrasound at NKTI on Saturday. On Sunday, we will all troop to Tagaytay for a quick trip for some sightseeing and of course, food tripping. We might go there Sunday morning till lunch where we plan to have a sumptuous meal in Josephine's.

I hope that all our plans for this weekend will push through. I am planning also for a short get-away to Club Manila East for some swimming on May 1 as it is a holiday and since malapit lang sya para my Dad will not get tired naman. With this I would like to ask some questions lang for those who have tried CME na? Ok ba ang CME for disabled guest? I mean may provisions for disabled guests like ramps, etc.? I want sana to bring my Dad with us when we go swimming para at least he can also enjoy the summer. We'll stay for one whole day lang ok ba yung mga cabanas nila? I'm just concerned lang kasi if we're bringing Dad with us, I want a place where he can comfortably rest while we are swimming hehehe. Will appreciate your comments/suggestions....Thanks in advance guys :)
