I finally got the chance to check my grade at Lakbayan to see how much of our country I have visited. Well, as you can see from the map, not much, ryt? I've been to places within Luzon and the farthest I have seen was Boracay in Aklan! lol I hope in the coming year I will be able to explore more of our contry especially in the Visayas and Mindanao region.

My Lakbayan grade is D!

How much of the Philippines have you visited? Find out at Lakbayan!

Planning in Antipolo

Last thursday and friday, our group has conducted our annual strategic planning for the year 2008 at Cloud 9 Hotel & Resort in Antipolo City. We left early thursday morning so that we'll have enough time to check in our things before 9 am, our scheduled start of the planning session. I was quite impressed with how the place has looked like after six years. You see, this is where my husband proposed marriage to me! And because of that reason, it has somewhat remain a special place for me :) Anyways, the place is now a hotel with swimming pools and many attractions to boast of. First, is the view of the metropolis. .It's just breathtaking! I love it! Also, I was suprised to find a lot of wonderful animals scattered all over the place (well, the animals are inside their cages.. so it's not that scary after all :)) There are ostrich (3 in fact), a myna bird (who swears! woudl you believe?!) and a monkey who eats quite a lot! Food is great also from breakfast to dinner, we enjoyed every meal they served us especially the sinigang na tuna:) It's to die for! Anyways, here we are having a grand time eating our "suman at chokolate" for merienda:

"suman at tsokolate"

We spent the first day brainstorming and evaluating each department's action plans for the goals and objectives set. It was a very tiring experience but at least we have covered all the subjects that need to be discussed and resolved. We finishd around 9:30 in the evening and cap the night off with a round of drinks courtesy of our boss.

at play

Our second day was also devoted to planning but this time we were able to squeeze in some photo ops:

We finished at around 5:30 in the afternoon so we had an early dinner and yes, a karaoke session! This event won't be complete without a karaoke session! We are such karaoke addicts, lol!

karaoke!

Over-all, the event is a huge success. We were able to accomplish our tasks and at the same time had fun and great bonding moments with our colleagues and boss.

We arrived at Changi Airport Terminal 2 around 12 noon after a smooth flight from Manila. I love Changi Airport!! It doesn't look like an airport and mostly, I was glad to see some designer brands' shops already!!! Oh boy, this trip is going to be exciting! Airport pa lang, shopping haven na ha ha ha. But, I controlled myself from window shopping this early coz I know we have a lot of time to do that. So we proceeded immediately to the immigration desk coz im dying to go to our hotel so that I can start with the "mall hopping" in Orchard Rd.
Everything went well with the immigration procedures though we have to wait in line coz there are a lot of tourists lined up mostly Filipinos like us he he he. Here's my Hunny while waiting for our turn...

After immigration, we then started to gather our stuff and proceeded to Customs area for the last stop of airport procedure before searching for our tour guide who will bring us to our hotel. By 1:00pm, we were done with all the procedures and we met with our tour guide and started loading our stuff to the waiting coaster. Wohoo! Finally!!.. It's approximately a 30 minute ride from the airport to our hotel in Orchard Rd. We stayed at Park Hotel Orchard in Orchard Road (wherelse?!) and when we got there, our friends, Malou and Charlie, who came with us on this trip, were already there waiting for us in the lobby. They flew to Singapore via Singapore Airlines ahead of us by a few minutes I guess. As expected, the hotel was having a lot of tourists over the weekend (since it's a school holiday in Singapore also) and there was a long line for check ins. We were so hungry na we decided to just leave our luggages with the reception desk and planned to go to our respective rooms after we have eaten lunch. The hotel is allowing this since they could not let us get into our room since they are still preparing them!!! Gawd!! So, we registered first but did not go to our rooms yet and went to The Vila'ge in Hereen Mall for our late lunch. Boy, I was glad that our friends chose this place to where we will be having our first meal in Singapore. I love this type of resto! It's called the "swiss market type" resto because you have the option to choose the food you want. You will be given a card which you will use in purchasing food & drinks and you will pay only when you are about to leave to resto. It reminds me of Streetlife in Glorietta but this is better!! Here's the four of us after having a nice lunch...

After eating, we went back to our hotel ( it's very accessible to most of the shops along Orchard!) to check if we can now go up to our room. I need to freshen up a little bit before I continue with our activities for the rest of the day he he he. Good thing our rooms are ready though we are placed in a smoking floor but ok na rin since it doesn't look or feel like one. Here's a picture of our room...

After settling in our room and taking a short rest, we proceeded to the lobby to meet with our friends, Malou and Charlie (my hunny's best friend), for some shopping at the nearby Takashimaya Mall at Ngee Ann City. But before that, we booked first with a travel agency (located in the hotel lobby, good thing!) who will take us to NIGHT SAFARI later in the evening. We don't want to miss any time that's why we booked also our trip to SENTOSA ISLAND for the following day. Picked up time for us for NIGHT SAFARI is 6:00 pm so off we go to Ngee Ann to have more time for shopping (or window shopping?!) he he he

I love Takashimaya Mall and NGEE Ann City!!!! I love the shops there! I saw Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Coach, Kate Spade, Tod's and many more!!! Though, i didn't get inside yet coz I know I have little time left, but I promise to go back soon!!! We have to go back to the hotel to wait for the bus that will take us to NIGHT SAFARI!! This is going to be an awesome experience! Will post my kwento soon...

Till Then :)

Hi all! This is just the first installment of a series of travel diaries from our recent trip to Singapore. I tend to make a short story long so I decided to have my travel "kwento" in parts he he he. Hope you'll enjoy reading this and please be patient for the coming installments as I can be quite "lazy" ha ha ha.... So here it goes....

Day 1 (At the NAIA Terminal 2):

We woke up early at around 4 am to catch our early morning flight to Singapore via PAL. It took me a while to get up coz i slept for almost four hours only due to some last minute packing the night before. Talk about cramming heh! I'm such a "heavy" packer! Gawd, i can't seem to decide what to bring on this trip that's why i ended up bringing almost everything ha ha ha. We just had coffee since we plan to have a light breakfast at the airport and PAL will be serving breakfast on board. We left the house at a little past 5 and reached terminal 2 around 6:30 na!

When we arrived, there are already a lot of passengers checking in so we immediately checked-in our luggage and went straight to immigration desk. It went on smoothly and by 7:15 we were inside waiting to board the plane. While waiting for boarding, we had light breakfast at Delifrance to feed our hungry tummies he he he

We had some time left before boarding, so we just had some pictures taken to pass time (we're such picture freaks!!)...

And also, I was able to window shop at the nearby duty free shops he he he (they are not plenty mind you but what the heck!, it's still "eye candy" for me ha ha ha). I had to control myself from buying since, hello?! i haven't even left the country and yet I want to go shopping na agad ha ha
Before we knew it, it's boarding time already so when our seat numbers were called, we immediately proceeded to the gate that will lead us to the plane. Wohooo! Singapore here we come!!!!
More stories to come.... :) Promise!
