new look

I decided to get a new look for my blog. I felt that it's about time and i'm quite bored na rin naman with the old one. Though, this is no extraordinary design, I think i'm going to keep this for awhile. The template came from blogger and I just added a blog header lang which I downloaded and edited to be able to include my blog name. Nothing much to brag about the design. But I simply like the white background and the subdued colors of the font unlike my previous one with hot pink fonts pa yata! Tehee! With this new look, I hope it will be much pleasing to the eyes of my blog readers and hopefully, it will help improve my blog traffic as well. Oh, I wish this new design will give me more luck with my paid blogging too :)

Oh you might want to know why a ballerina? Well, wala lang. I've always wanted to learn ballet since I was little but then, my mom insisted that I should learn to play the piano na lang. So, in short, di ako nag-ballet and took up piano lessons instead (which I don't regret doing naman). But everytime I see a girl in tutu, it brings back old childhood memories. That's why when i saw this header, I immediately downloaded it. This affinity to ballet will also explain why I love the color pink so much.

So even if it has nothing to do with my blog title, I used the image na rin. Anyway, ballet is nice and as i've said in my blog description " this blog is all about my simple joys in life and just about everything NICE!"

almost had it

Short kwento lang po.

Last night, while I was browsing through other blogs in my ITouch (I turned off na kasi my laptop coz I'm about to retire na rin and I just did a short "silip" lang in PPP to check if there are any available posts), I was surprised to see an available opportunity at payperpost. I got excited and immediately click the reserved button. Imagine, after a long time may white color na umappear!? Super happy ako even if the opp is only $5, okay na ako dun noh? promise!

But, unfortunately due to my excitement, I think I typed the wrong answer to the capcha question that's why I wasn't able to reserve the opp that time and was asked again to enter the correct answer. When I did, it's too late. The oppurtunity is no longer available! Would you believe, in a span of few seconds, it was gone!? Hay.. I was so frustrated that I didn't get to sleep agad. Nawala ang antok ko! Tehee.

Wala lang. Just want to vent out my frustration. Ang hirap ng opps lately kasi :(

Oscars 2008

I was able to watch the 80th Academy Awards last monday. I started watching at around 7 am just in time for the Red Carpet. I must say, that the turn out of the celebrities who attended the awards night was not that "impressive" compared to the previous years. Not many superstars, I guess. But just the same, the Oscar awarding ceremony was an enjoyable one. It lasted for more than 3 hours. They say that this is rather "short" as compared to the other Oscars since the writers have just gotten back from their more than 3 months strike (good thing, there's a temporary agreement between them & the hollywood exec without which there would be no show). Anyways, as always, Jon Stewart is very funny and entertaining with his witty comments and remarks. I was touched with the presentation of the Honorary Oscars to Robert Boyle, a multi-talented Production Designer, who at the age of 98 is still very much active in his field doing consultancy works. He's really an admirable man. The "In Memoriam" segment was as usual the saddest part of the show with the inclusion of the great, Heath Ledger. As for the winners, well, what can I say. I haven't seen most of the films nominated or the performances of the actors/actresses so I can't really give my honest opinion on this. However, I realized that most of the winners (in the acting category) are foreigners.

Best Actor - Daniel Day Lewis (British, I think?)
Movie: There will be Blood

Best Actress - Marion Cotilard (French)
Movie: La Vie En Rose

Best Supporting Actor - Javier Bardem (Spanish)
Movie - No Country for Old Men

Best Supporting Actress - Tilda Swinton (British?)
Movie - Michael Clayton

As for the Red Carpet, well, i'm not really impressed but was surprised to find out that there are a lot of reds! Here are my top picks:

Anne Hathaway in Marchesa

Katherine Heighl in Escada

Heidi Klum in John Galliano (this is actually up for bid)

Miley Cyrus in Valentino (only 15 yrs. old and already wearing Valentino! Wow!)

Jennifer Garner in Oscar dela Renta

Amy Adams in Proenza Schouler (her art deco bag has nothing in it!!)

Cameron Diaz in Dior by Galliano

Hillary Swank in Versace

Keri Russell in Nina Ricci

Laura Linney in Michael Kors

And lastly, Jessica Alba in Marchesa

Don't you just love the Oscars? :)

what's wrong with SR?

What's wrong with Sponsored Reviews?

Yes, that's the one question which has been bugging me since last week.

The problem is that I haven't got any approved bid. As in none. Zero. I can't believe this. Before, even if my blog hasn't got any PR Rank yet, I get about 2 approved bids on the average per week. But now, it's as if i'm back to square one and haven't got any. Tsk. Tsk. Tsk. This is bad.

Now, I am wondering if the problem is with SR or with me (my blog that is). SR has been the source of most of my paid opps (since with PPP, i'm not lucky enough to grab some opps due to PR rank I guess) and with this development, i'm quite worried about how my paid blogging activity will prosper. I just hope that this scarcity of blog opps will end asap. I need the extra moolah for our planned summer getaway this year. All I can do now is ... to wish and hope... wish and hope....

wise investments

I got a surprise call from a close friend of mine now based in the province of Zambales. We've been friends since college and ever since she got married, had a family of her own and settled up north, we rarely got the chance to see each other. another long weekend

Wohoo! Another long weekend is coming up! Oh how I love long weekends. Not only because I won't be waking up early in the morning for three straight days but also because these long breaks allow me to catch up on my reading and keep in touch with family and friends. So, what's our plan?

Well, on Saturday I plan to visit my urologist to have my long overdue follow-up checkup. Why long overdue? Read this. I also plan to drop by the house of my siblings and probably go to the mall later in the afternoon with them. We've all been busy with work these past days that's why we hardly had the time to spend some quality time together lately. I miss them already :(

Sunday, I plan to visit my dear dad in Laguna. It's been 2 weeks since I last saw him and I miss him too. But, we text everyday so we're not really out of touch. But, the visit is not yet final as I need to check on my husband's schedule first. If he's not available, I might go by myself.

Monday is Oscars' Day! I've been waiting for this event! I love to watch the Red Carpet and the Post-event Parties. I love drooling over the gorgeous gowns, jewelries and accesories and of course, the bags/clutches worn and carried by the stars. Of course, the Oscars awarding ceremony is a wonderful show to watch out for. Would you believe in the past years, I had to skip work or came to work late just because I stayed at home and watch the show from Red Carpet to Post-event Parties!? Yeah, I do it most of the time! That's how I love Oscars. Good thing, this year, it is a holiday! Thanks to Malacanang for declaring this day as a holiday! Now, I don't need to worry about coming to work late! Thanks, thanks! Though I have to wake up early coz Velvet is airing the show at 7am! Wow it's too early!

So, that's how I see my long weekend to happen. How about yours? :)

Today we attended the wedding of our good friends, Gale & Melanie. It was a beautiful wedding from the solemn ceremony held at the Santuario de San Antonio to the wonderful dinner reception at the Manila Polo Club. The newly-weds were so overwhelmed with the turn-out of guests in the church and reception considering that they are expecting less attendance from friends and relatives since its a workday. But, Gale & Lanie are a well-loved couple so many of their friends and relatives really took the time out (like us) just to be with them on their special day. Both the bride and groom looked gorgeous in their wedding attire. Lanie is resplendent in her wedding gown while Gale looks dashing in his barong tagalog. The church was magnificent and overflowing with flowers such as calla lilies and roses in hue of orange and yellow. The Manila Polo Club, as always, is a nice place to hold your reception. The couple made sure that all the guests will have a wonderful time by having a lively reception program with Paolo Clemente of Angel Winks Production as hosts and event organizer. The food was great too! They serve Japanese food no less since the groom has a special affiliation with Japan having worked there for some time. My husband obviously had the time of his life since Japanese food is one of his favorite, lol. He almost had his plate filled with makis and tempura and sushi. So embarassing, hahaha. I also super love the cake from Alex Franco! So yummy!

Anyways, the program was short but very entertaining. I like it that way so that the couple will have more time to mingle with their guests rather than just sitting there in front for a long time. As usual, I won't let this occasion to pass without taking some pictures. I'm such a photo opp person, bwahahaha.. Here are some pics from the wedding:

The happy couple after the ceremony

Hubby and his barkada

The whole gang with the newlyweds

Just don't mind my "braso" here ha?!

Congratulations again, Gale & Lanie! All the best!

Summer has been a favorite time of my family. When i was still a small girl, I would always get excited everytime the school end because it will only mean one thing... the beginning of summer! With summer comes our annual family vacation spent in either the beach or resorts within our province. I have plenty of wonderful summer memories that I would like to remember always that's why now that i'm all grown-up, I try to organize summer trips to beautiful places we haven't been to. Now that summer is almost here, I started with my research for our possible destination this year. I sure would love to have an out of the country destination this time and on top of my list would be the Riviera Maya in Mexico. I've heard so many good things about this place. I checked out this site karismahotels.com and glad to have found it. This site has all the information you could possibly need if you are contemplating on going to this beautiful place. Here you can find the different hotels available in this fabulous place which offers top of the line hotel services that only an upscale boutique hotel can give. They also have a wide range of gourmet food choices to choose from that even the best food critic in the world will agree and attest to this. Hotel accomodations are considered one of the best in the world. Here you have the chance to experience luxury at its best in one of the many private suites and villas available from these wonderful hotels. Staying there will definitely change your meaning of what luxury living is all about. There are a lot of activities also to choose from so getting bored will not be an issue there. There's yoga, pingpong, volleyball and massages you can try out and have the time of your life. Plus the nightlife there is fantastic! So, what are you waiting for? Start your own vacation planning and make sure to check out Riviera Maya for that one-of-a-kind, unforgettable summer experience. As for me, I am now convinced this place is a must to see and experience.

For the longest time now, i've been trying to get my paypal account verified. But everytime I do so, I always get this remarks from paypal:

"This credit card has been denied by the bank that issued your credit card. For details on why your card was denied, please contact your credit card issuer's customer service department. Or, you may want to try adding a different credit card."

I've asked for Unionbank's help on this problem but they can't seem to give me the right answer. Wala naman daw problema with my account, it's already activated daw. Honestly, I think not many knows about paypal and how it works here in the philippines.

I want to have my account verified na. It's not that I earned a lot na with paid blogging. It's just that I want to "test" lang if i'll be able to transfer funds na from paypal to my eon account so that I won't be having problems in the future should I decide to do so.

Hay. Anyone can help me on this one? I'm so inis na i'm thinking of just having a different account na lang for verification.

Help please girls! Thanks Thanks.
