on changing glasses

My husband has been wearing glasses since his high school days. Though his been using contact lenses now, he still keep a decent pair of glasses as an alternate. Last time I checked, the one he's using needs to be replaced with a new and trendier one. Since Valentine's Day is just around the corner, I am thinking of getting him a new pair like this one I saw online at Zenni Optical, an online shop that has a wide selection of frames and lenses.

You see, I got excited upon learning that the Zenni Optical: Sell Rx Glasses $8 with case! Now, that would be the best deal ever!

it's about time

I've been having headaches for the past weeks now and I am not doing something about it. Tsk..tsk..tsk.. I know that's too bad because it might lead to a more serious problem when neglected. With my husband's shoving, I agreed to have my eyes checked as he has a hunched already that these headaches are cause by an eye problem. Lo and behold, I learned that I have astigmatism and I need to correct it by wearing glasses. I must admit I hate wearing glasses. It made me look like an old person, lol. But, I have no choice if I want to have the problem fix. I just need to find the right pair of glasses. Good thing I stumbled upon Zenni Optical $8 Rx Glasses. The sytles of their glasses are way fashionable and most importantly, its very affordable mind you. It's really the Best Thing Found: Zenni Optical because they provide the most affordable prescription glasses. There are a lot of designs to choose from and every person will definitely find one design to his/her liking. What a Great Discovery: Zenni Optical is!

on losing hair

A favorite aunt of mine just turned 60 years old a week ago. Thank God, she's still in good health and can very well live her life to the fullest. However, the one thing that has been bothering her lately is her hair loss problem. You see, my aunt is not very fond of going to the salon for hair treatment and everything because she thinks this is just a waste of her time and most of all, money, lol. That's why, she opted to check out the best hair loss products available in the market today. She asked for my help on this one and I gladly told her that there is this website that presents the most popular hair loss products available in the market today. It is called TrustSource.ORG. In here, the customers will have a look at different products along with the reviews from people who used them. On top of the list of Hair Loss Product is Provillus. Provillus aggressively seeds your scalp to create the optimum environment for new, healthy hairs. It supplies the proper nutrition required to bring damaged, dead hair follicles back to life. Do you know that the Provillus Review has gained the highest rating among the hair loss products marketed on the net? Isn't it amazing? The rating is done by allowing people to rate the products presented on the site as well as post reviews on them. So, whether you have already lost hair or preventing hair loss, this site is the best place to go through. I should know, my aunt and I already visited this and we were quite happy with our choice. Now, my aunt can now go out and enjoy life more without having to worry about hair loss.

Summer is almost here!

I know that we are still experiencing cold mornings at this time of the year but right now, I can't stop thinking about how our summer will be like this year. You see, summer is my second favorite season next to Christmas, of course. Summer brings back some wonderful memories of my childhood that's why i'm quite excited when summer is near. This year though, we have plans of going to the beach. In Boracay, most probably. I haven't been to this beautiful place in years and I am curious to find out what's new. Also, I am eager to wear my newly bought swimwear (thanks to Marks & Spencer for the Sale!). You see, this is the only place where I can wear a decent swimwear without having to worry about what other people might think about it. Most of them are also in their finest swim wear anyway, and they woud not mind me wearing one, I supposed. But lately, i'm pretty worried about the stretchmarks that has been showing in my thighs. I have it since I gained weight over the years and this is the effect of expanding skin I guess. Right now, i'm on the look out for the best stretch mark cream and good thing I got to know about revitol stretch mark cream. I was happy when I learned about this product because it gives dramatic results as attested by many satisfied clients. And the cost is not that much compared to other products available in the market today. This is definitely a must-try if you are trying to prevent stretch marks to appear. Pregnant women can also use this product as this was proven to be safe to use. As for me, I will start applying this wonder cream so that when the time comes when I need to out on my swim wear, I would not hesitate to do so because I know that those ugly marks are now gone and hopefully forgotten.

A cousin of mine is about to graduate from college this March. We are all super excited for him considering that he graduated on top of his class. He has high hopes for himself especially that he took a course that would land him a job abroad. He'll be an ultrasound tech and had plans of continuing his studies preferably become a full pledged sonographer in the future. This early, he is now on the look out for the best ultrasound tech school in the country and abroad. Good thing, he chance upon seeing the site of Medical Career Training, a site that helps people find the right schools in popular medical careers such as ultrasound technologist. In this site, a person who is considering a career in the field of medicine will be able to find which school will best provide the right training and knowledge for him/her. So, for my cousin, finding that ultrasound technician school should not be a problem with the help of this site. He also found out that students who receive a medical training from the recommended schools on this particular site find themselves in exciting healthcare professions including medical office manager, dental assistant, ultrasound technician, radiologist, nurse and more. My cousin's mind is definetely set on pursuing his career in this field of medicine and with the help of this site, I am pretty sure that he'll be able to in the near future.

online billiards

My brother and cousins are very fond of billiards. We have a portable billiard table in our home in Laguna and every time we go there, the boys would always have a billiards session to their delight. Recently, they've discovered online billiards through the internet via Billiardmagic.com and they have been hooked ever since. Billiardmagic.com is the most reliable and authentic site to play online billiard, snooker and pool. They never fails to provide my brother and cousins with the right information to help them improve their games and at the same time, gives access to exciting billiard tournaments which they are now joining for fun. So, if you too are billiard fanatics, why don't you try online pool through Billiardmagic.com. Who knows? You might be the next champion.

busy weekend

Oh my gosh! Thursday pa lang I can foresee what my weekend would be like na! Tomorrow, we'll be having our company's annual sales rally in which our department was tasked to execute the set-up of the venue (in Orchidarium). Not to mention, I will also take part in the actual program in the evening. So, early morning tomorrow, expect me to be in Orchidarium na assisiting our Design group in the setting up the whole place. Our theme for this year is Barrio Fiesta so i'll be wearing a "kimona & patadyong" (hope I look good on it hahaha). Tomorrow also, my brother will be leaving for Hongkong for an all-expense paid trip courtesy of the company he works for (wohoo! lucky guy!). Sarap nila noh? It's there bonus daw for a job well done (dapat lang naman noh! My brother worked so hard the past year. He works as a graphic artist in an advertising company by the way). I wish may ganyan din kami (lol, dream on!). I won't be able to send him off at the airport as they will go as group na raw. As if naman I can! eh busy nga ako, di ba?! We will just pick him up when he arrives on Monday. Syempre, sipsip ako dami ko bilin eh hehehe.

On saturday naman, my Dad will have his monthly check-up at Medical City so we would probably be there the whole afternoon and go malling na rin afterwards. On sunday, It would probably be a "mall-day" ulit this time with my hubby after hearing mass syempre.. And also in between this activities, I will definitely blog to the max as I have plenty of opps to finish and tag to do. Thanks to my sisters for always giving me a tag to work on. I love doing them so keep 'em coming girls :)

R.I.P. Heath Ledger

I was really saddened by the untimely demised of one of Holywood's fast-rising actor, Heath Ledger. I am no fan of Heath but I appreciate all the effort he has put into his movies especially in "Brokeback Mountain". I am also looking forward to his upcoming portrayal of "the Joker" in the movie "Dark Knight". Many said that he has put a different toll on this popular character once played by the great, Jack Nicholson.

Cause of his death is still unknown as the report of his autopsy was inconclusive. I just hope that the reports that have been circulating around about his alleged drug dependence and accidental overdose which they believed has caused his death are not true for I have high regards for this person. On the other hand, for whatever reason, I just hope and pray that Heath is now at peace with the Lord and that his family and daughter will soon recover from this tragic loss.

I got this tag from Juliana. Thanks sis! I've always wanted to know if my name has a meaning at all, lol. I just know that my first name, Jessellie, was derived from the names of my parents (i'm their first born that's why) and my second name, Lourdes, was inspired by my mom's devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary (in which she is a devotee). So, I checked it out...

What Jessellie Lourdes Means

You are fair, honest, and logical. You are a natural leader, and people respect you.
You never give up, and you will succeed... even if it takes you a hundred tries.
You are rational enough to see every part of a problem. You are great at giving other people advice.

You are friendly, charming, and warm. You get along with almost everyone.
You work hard not to rock the boat. Your easy going attitude brings people together.
At times, you can be a little flaky and irresponsible. But for the important things, you pull it together.

You are the total package - suave, sexy, smart, and strong.
You have the whole world under your spell, and you can influence almost everyone you know.
You don't always resist your urges to crush the weak. Just remember, they don't have as much going for them as you do.

You are relaxed, chill, and very likely to go with the flow.
You are light hearted and accepting. You don't get worked up easily.
Well adjusted and incredibly happy, many people wonder what your secret to life is.

You tend to be pretty tightly wound. It's easy to get you excited... which can be a good or bad thing.
You have a lot of enthusiasm, but it fades rather quickly. You don't stick with any one thing for very long.
You have the drive to accomplish a lot in a short amount of time. Your biggest problem is making sure you finish the projects you start.

You are well rounded, with a complete perspective on life.
You are solid and dependable. You are loyal, and people can count on you.
At times, you can be a bit too serious. You tend to put too much pressure on yourself.

You are a very lucky person. Things just always seem to go your way.
And because you're so lucky, you don't really have a lot of worries. You just hope for the best in life.
You're sometimes a little guilty of being greedy. Spread your luck around a little to people who need it.

You are wild, crazy, and a huge rebel. You're always up to something.
You have a ton of energy, and most people can't handle you. You're very intense.
You definitely are a handful, and you're likely to get in trouble. But your kind of trouble is a lot of fun.

You are balanced, orderly, and organized. You like your ducks in a row.
You are powerful and competent, especially in the workplace.
People can see you as stubborn and headstrong. You definitely have a dominant personality.

The Project

In my post here, i've mentioned about how "this project" has been eating up most of our time. To the point that, i've missed out on opps and some post because of this. So anyways, now that it's complete, I would like to present to you "the project " that's been making my blogging life irregular, lol. Meet our newly installed "toys"....

Philips LCD TV and JBL Home Theater System

Yes, it's our new home entertainment system. This replaces our 5 yr old Philips flat screen tv and JVC home theater system. Actually, this project was initiated by my financier, my husband of course!(lol) and my only contribution was the selection of the tv cabinet. Ang tagal na nitong in the making I swear! Even before Christmas pa, Al (my husband), has been making the rounds of appliance centers trying to look for the best LCD deal. Hay. If you only knew how many times we had to go back to the malls (Shang, Trinoma, Megamall, etc.)just to have this "toys" checked out! Until finally, my husband finally got a great deal (as in!) at Abenson Shang and reserved a Philips LCD immediately before the year ended last December. Anyways, the home theater system is a different story. At first, Al wanted to get na rin Philips Ambisound system (the one wherein you need not have five speakers installed to achieve the 5.1 experience), it's a new product that is great if you have limited space and hate lots of wires installed. However, he is not satisfied with the sound raw so he opted to get na lang the JBL system (with the amplifiers and all!). It came a little later than the T.V. The installation is another story na naman. With the LCD, we need to have our walls reinforced pa coz dry wall lang and its hollow inside. Hay ang gulo sa house promise! Buti na lang my household help is very maagap when it comes to cleaning kaya di rin kami masyado nahirapan. After that, the installers from Philips and JBL arrived na rin to install the "toys". We askes them to install it instead para sure na we would'nt miss out on anything. The TV cabinet naman came from Our Home. Ang hirap din maghanap nito as in! At first we couldn't find the perfect table to go along with the "toys". Buti na lang we saw this na so we immediately bought ba rin. The set-up took about two days pa rin as we are still trying to improve the cable signal eh. Would you believe we have to add 2 booster signal (whatever that is) just to get a good tv reception? Ganun yata if LCD kasi since big screen medyo hindi fine ang reception even if cable sya. Di pa naman kasi digital ang skycable, right? (at least here in our area).

Now everything's going well. We're now enjoying it and most of the time, we just stay home and watch DVDs na lang. Sayang naman if we're not going to use it ng madalas, di ba? What happened na to the old TV and Home Theater? It's inside our room na replacing naman the old unit there :)

online education

Just the other day, my officemates are talking about our respective plans of taking up a post- graduate degree. It's been my personal goal to earn a master's degree to better equip me with the proper knowledge and training that will help me in my career. However, in the corporate world, the luxury of time can not be easily achieved especially if your job demands almost 100% of your time and attention. That's why, I am checking out my other options and good thing, i've learned about online education. It's the better alternative of getting a degree without going through the hassle of going to school everyday especially if you are working at the same time. There are lots of online university nowadays that offers a wide range of online education for everybody. One of them is capella university. They have been a fully accredited, online university since 1993 and is committed to provide high-caliber academic excellence and pursuing balanced business growth for professionals like me. One can choose from graduate online degree programs in business, information technology, education, human services, public health, public safety, and psychology, and bachelor’s degree programs in business, information technology, and public safety. At the moment, Capella offers 104 graduate and undergraduate specializations and 15 certificate programs and currently serves nearly 20,000 students from all 50 states and 56 countries. Now, isn't that impressive?

I will definitely check out more about capella university by visiting their website and inquire about their different programs. I firmly believe that one should not stop learning because this can help in improving oneself and become a better person.

a beautiful song

Is it possible to fall in love ..... with a song?

I don't know but I heard this beautiful, beautiful song and I can't stop myself from humming and thinking about it. It's called "Fly Away" by a talented singer named Corinne May. It's a song May made for her family when she left Singapore (where she was born and raised) to study music at Berkelee School of Music. It a very touching song, the lyrics are like verses from a poem and the voice of Corinne... Oh my gosh..... it's amazing! It's like a combination of Joni Mitchell's and Sarah Mclachlan's! Her song really makes me want to cry. So, better grab a box of kleenex just to be sure. Grabe! I sooo love this song. Pity I only got to know this wonderful artist and her beautiful congs just now. Thanks to the JBL guy who installed my husband's latest "toy" (check out later for my post about this). He allowed me to copy one of his demo CD where I discovered this song. Hay... I'm now officially a Corinne May fan. Solid!

wedding flowers

I just learned from one of my staff member that he is about to marry his longtime girlfriend in June. And what's more exciting about it is that my husband will stand as one of the prinicipal sponsor! It would be my husband's first and up to this date, he still can't believe that he will be a wedding sponsor at his age (he's only 34 y.o.) Anyways, I told him that it would be bad luck to refuse the invitation and that the couple's a good friend of ours so it should be an honor. Anyways, this early, the couple is now attending to the details of their upcoming wedding. One detail that I would love to help them with is the wedding flowers. I love flowers and for my own wedding, this is one item that is non-negotiable for me. Meaning, I allocated a big chunk of our wedding budget to flowers, would you believe? I love how the church and reception venue turned-out to be. All my favorite flowers were especially used on this very special occasion. For our friends wedding, I suggested they get wholesale roses from fiftyflowers.com. Fiftyflowers.com is your one-stop shop when it come to premium flowers at an easy and affordable rates. Providing beautiful flowers for your wedding shouldn't cost too much. That's why fiftyflower.com delivers beautiful flowers at a wholesome cost. They carry some of my favorite flowers I even used for my own wedding such as premium roses, calla lilies, rose petals, gerbera daisies, hydrangeas, peonies and many other flowers and greens. new project

I still owe you guys my recap for the year that was, 2007. But, that will have to wait till this weekend when I will have the luxury of time to do it. So many things have happened and a lot to be thankful for. So, I need more time to collate all the wonderful and not so wonderful events & highlights that transpired in 2007.

In the meantime, hubby and I are working on a new "project". Nothing big really but I felt that it's worth the effort since this will be our first project for the year. Good start? I'd like to think so :) Will tell you more about it in the coming days. Till then, ciao!

gold investment

Times are hard nowadays and many of us are thinking of worthy investments with the hope that it will make us financially secured in the future. Investing your hard-earned money in something should be thought about very carefully. One very good investment is buying gold. For many centuries now, gold buying had been recognized as one of the best ways to preserve one's wealth and purchasing power. I remember when I was little, my mother would always lecture me about why gold is a very good investment and that when I grow up, I should consider buying my own piece. The love for gold can be traced back from the times of the ancient Egyptians, Greek and Romans to modern times. Men have been very much fascinated with its beauty and capability of changing their lives. According to studies, it's the best form of money ever known. Today, the beauty of gold bars lies in its ability to diversify investments, protect wealth, and preserve one's purchasing power. When buying gold, one should consider getting it from Monex Deposit Company (MDC), a trusted name in gold, silver, and other precious metal. They can immediately arrange for a personal delivery or place it in a convenient and safe storage at an independent bank. With Monex, you can never go wrong. They've been in this business for 40 years now that's why they're America's trusted name in Precious Metal dealer. So what are you waiting for? Start securing your future. Invest wisely. Buy a gold bulion from the trusted, MDC. An MDC representative is very much willing to assist you as part of their extended customer servce.

sale everywhere!

Don't you just love this time of the year? After the merry makings, we all now troop to the malls where almost all of them are on sale!! Yup. The annual "end of the year" sale is officially on. Some malls like SM started right after christmas while others like Powerplant started their year-end sale last Jan.4 only. Last weekend, I made it a point to visit some of them with the hope that I would be able to "snag" some stuff. It was a tiring weekend. As always, the malls are packed with shoppers. Saturday was spent in Powerplant. I immediately paid visit to Zara as I heard from my friend that lines there are terrible! The fitting room and cashier lines for that matter! I thought, hey, if peeps are willing to line up like that, a lot of good stuff must be on sale. So, I wasted no time and went. Honestly, i like the items on sale at Zara. I almost snag a pair of shoes that i've been eyeing before but unfortunately, no available size for me. I love the dresses but I thought the discounted prices are still not worth it (at least for me ha? i'm on a strict budget eh, lol). And then, there were nice coats on sale too (love the pink one i saw). My friend was right. There were plenty of people inside and I lost interest in trying on some stuff because the lines are just to loonnggg! Thus, I went out of Zara empty handed :( Poor me. I wasn't able to find a bag to my liking also. There were no good deals I should say. Instead, hubby and I ended up at Sumo-sam for dinner together with some friends.

Sunday, we headed off to Trinoma. Again, I went to Zara and was surprised to find out that there weren't too many people compared to Powerplant. I was able to try a top and a skirt but decided not to get it for some reason. I went to the nearby Gap store (I love Gap now) and was able to snag a nice top at a discounted price. Woohoo! Now this is more like it. I'm surprised to know that Gap has come up with new designs. I mean, we all know Gap as the basic or uniform type, right? But lately i've been seeing more "girly" tops and I love it.

I was also able to score a new bag from Liz Clairborne not on sale though. But okay pa rin coz it's paid by my hubby, LOL. I went home a very happy baghag ;) That's how my weekend went.

my fashion style

Your Fashion Style is Classic

You like what's stood the test of time...
Simple, well styled clothes that don't scream trendy
You stay updated and modern, but your clothes stay in style for a while
You wouldn't be caught in animal prints, fake fur, or super bright colors

This is so true!!!

what i'm grateful for

My blog friend, Juliana, passed me this meme. She wants to know eight things that I'm grateful for. There's a lot of things that I'm grateful and eight is way too little. But since I'm asked to list only eight, I will try my best to pick the top eight.

1. First would be good health for me and my family. It scares me to death when one of us is sick.

2. A loving and caring husband. Without him in my life, it would be meaningless.

3. All that we have right now. It's not too much I tell you but I'm happy with it. We live a comfortable life naman and I couldn't ask for more :)

4. The love and support of my family and friends. Like my husband, I couldn't imagine life without these people.

5. My job. It's not easy to be a working wife. But I just can't give up my career as this is the fulifillment of my longtime dream. To have a promising career in the corporate world.

6. My in-laws. They're the best. Though we live near their unit, they would never interfere in any of our decisions as husband & wife but are always there when we need them. What's more, they always send food to our house, lol.

7. My only living parent, my Dad; my departed loved ones (whom I miss terribly :( ) - my dearest Mom and Lolo; for all the hardships they have gone through just to provide us with a better life and goodeducation. What I am right now, I owe to this wonderful people.

8. The cyberspace for allowing me to earn while doing the thing I love, blogging. And most importantly, for getting to know new friends and having a grand time reading their posts.
