smorty

When I started blogging, my only objective was to have an online journal wherein I can post my thoughts, feelings and going ons in my simple life. I started about a year ago and i've never been this enthusiastic about it as I am right now. One reason maybe is the fact that in September of this year, I got to know that I can actually get paid to blog. It's like doing the thing that you love most and be paid for it. I learned this through my online friends and i'm grateful to them for that. Blog advertising is now one of the best ways to advertise. This was attested by many companies that's why a lot of them are now getting services of bloggers like us to advertise their product. It's very effective and one site that effectively works well with blog advertising is Smorty, a site connecting advertisers with bloggers like me. I'm so glad that I was able to get blog approval from Smorty. It's one of the most trusted name in paid blogging. On this site, an advetiser can pay bloggers to write their opinion with linkbacks to the advertiser's site, of course in their blog entry. Once approved, the blogger will be paid for doing this post. It's that easy! Getting paid for something you love doing is like a bonus. And with Smorty around, paid blogging will surely be a breeze.

my ipod touch

My latest "baby" is now operational!! wohoo! Thanks to my friend, Dex, who patiently uploaded songs and taught me how to use it. And most importantly, the wifi connection is now working! Yey! Actually, more than the songs, i'm more excited about the wifi feature of this wonderful gadget. With this, I can always check on (as long as there's airborne access) my email and blog accounts and more paid opps wherever I may be. Aylabit!

Downside: there's something wrong with the earphones included in the package :( Basta basag ang sound niya when the volume is increase. Hay! Expect me to be in the apple store first thing tomorrow morning!! I can not allow this to happen, lol! Right now, i'm using the earphones of my old ipod mini. Buti na lang I have spare.

Christmas 2007

How's everybody? Hope you guys had a wonderul time with your loved ones and friends last Christmas. We had a blast I must say. Hubby and I spent Christmas eve at my in-laws house (which is a few steps away from ours, lol). We went to hear mass at 8 p.m. at the village chapel. Afterwards, I went to our unit muna to finish wrapping presents I need to bring tomorrow in Laguna. Talk about cramming! Na-stress ako! I see this coming na because I started late na rin naman. So, I have no right to complain. Lucky for me, I was able to finish it all before we were called to proceed na to my in-laws house for the noche buena. When we got there, I was surprised to see lots of food in the table!! As in! My MIL never really fails to amaze us! She always have yummy foods for our yearly Noche Buena. This year, aside from the usual food she prepares, she added pizza, pasta and more food from Sbarro!!! Wohoo!! We love Sbarro and having them for Noche Buena is such a treat for us hungry wolves ha ha ha. Anyways, after eating which ended at around 1 AM na yata, we then started with the gift giving. Hubby's nieces and nephews all liked their gifts. I got mostly clothes if you will ask. It was a fun gift giving night and we finished at around 2:30 AM na rin. When we got home, it's our time naman to present each other's gift. I went first and immediately gave hubby my gift. It's a Wenger watch i've been eyeing since November pa. What's nice about it aside from the fact that it's a very durable watch, is that it comes with a free Transformers DVD and swiss knife! Wohoo! So, in effect, I have three gifts for the husband, lol. He liked the watch but I think he like the DVD more. Favorite nya ang Transformers eh! When it was hubby's turn na, he was playing deadma the whole time. He said I already got my gift na and I wore it na nga raw already. He was talking about my new pair of Crocs he got me a few days before christmas. So, deadma lang ako. I know he has something for me. I'm not sure which one of those I mentioned to him ang binili nya. I went to the bathroom first and when I got back in our room there it was lying in our bed :) a gift beautifully wrapped in gold paper and ribbons. Deadma pa si hubby and said he has nothing to do with it daw! ang arte talaga! So I opened it immediately (not without taking a photo of it nga pala) and was surprised to see what's inside! Dear hubby gave me a new IPOD Touch!! Wohoo! I've been wanting to have one since my old Ipod mini is now about to breakdown na (from too much use, lol) I originally asked for an Iphone but hubby is quite hesitant to get one since it's still not available here in Pinas and we might end up getting a fake one (as we heard over the news) we have relatives abroad who can purchase one for us but Hubby said no na lang muna. Baka I might have problems with the system naman daw and no one here is authorize to fix it, if ever. So the Ipod touch is the best alternative muna for the meantime, he he he. It has all the features of the Iphone the only difference is that it doesn't have a phone function. Anyways, i'm quite happy na with this. Can't wait to use it na nga eh.

Christmas morning, we went home to Sta. Cruz, Laguna to be with my family and friends. They're all there na kami na lang hinihintay to start with the gift giving. We all had our turns of being Santa as we distributed our gifts to one another. My mom's side of the family is quite big so just imagine the gifts under the tree! It was fun and merry but tiring rin sobra! But everybody was happy with their loots. I'm one of them ha ha ha! I got nice stuffs from my siblings, cousins and aunts/uncles. We stayed the night and went back home to Manila later in the afternoon of the 26th na. Supernakapag-recharge kami kasi the whole time it was raining there in Sta. Cruz and all we did was sleep, eat and watch tv. Good times!!

It was another memorable Christmas holiday for me. Sana Pasko lagi no?

Let me share with you some pictures of our company party held last Dec. 19 at rooftop of Annapolis Wilshire in Greenhills. Boy, we had fun that night. Plus the good thing was I got an award.... i'm the Star of the Night!! Would you believe?! In my previous posts, I often mentioned about my problem in finding the right costume for the party. Last minute na lang nga, I still don't know what to wear pa. Buti na lang, I have this old silver gown that I usually wear in weddings and I added some fur thing material which I got from SM plus had my hair and makeup at David's before the party and voila! I'm the Snow Queen! (well at least in my own opinion, lol) I was so surprised when my name was called and didn't get up muna as I thought our Gen. Mgr., who announced the winners (there were 2 stars of the night, fyi), was just making fun of it. Pero totoo pala ha ha ha. I can't do anything about it. She chose me eh hehehe. Over-all the party was a success. We all had fun and the good part is we were able to bond like one big family and had a great time as well. Cheers One Asia!

super tired

I just came home from a very tiring day in the office. I was practising the whole day as in from morning till late in the evening!! All because of our Christmas party on wednesday. Hay! Kina-career talaga namin! Tomorrow will be spent also with more pratice sessions. Till wednesday na to! I haven't been doing much work lately. No time talaga. I hope after all this partying, i'll be able to get back to my normal work schedule. I don't want to have too many backlogs for next year. I'll finish them all before the year ends talaga! I hope, tehee :)

Anyways, my weekend was spent...wherelse?!! in the MALL!! I was in Trinoma last saturday and Mall of Asia yesterday, Sunday doing my Christmas shopping. I know it's kind of late now but this is my only time to shop for gifts to my loved ones and friends. I've been super busy with work and extra curricular activities (read: practices) that I was only able to start shopping this weekend lang. I think I did pretty well considering that most on my list have already been crossed-out. There are a few items left in the list (those of my hubby, a brother and my dad) and I intend to finish my shopping hopefully this coming weekend. No chance talaga on weekdays. Plenty of work to do and also, this is the last regular working week. I'm not realy complaining about the long lines in the cashier and gift wrapping section (terrible!! as in!!). The Christmas rush is here na talaga. And i'm loving it!!!!

I'm a yellow crayon

I snagged this quiz from Peachy and thought it would be fun to do this. It turned out i'm a yellow crayon! I remember when I was still a kid, my mom would always pick the yellow dress or shoes for me. That's because my younger sister always has the pink one naman. Kaya I always have this affiliation with the color yellow. And now the result of this quiz more than justified it, lol.

You Are a Yellow Crayon

Your world is colored with happy, warm, fun colors. You have a thoughtful and wise way about you. Some people might even consider you a genius.Charming and eloquent, you are able to get people to do things your way. While you seem spontaneous and free wheeling, you are calculating to the extreme.
Your color wheel opposite is purple. You both are charismatic leaders, but purple people act like you have no depth.

What Color Crayon Are You?

Tomorrow, I plan to go to the mall early pa lang so that I wouldn't have a hard time buying gifts. Although, I know that no matter how early, I expect a lot of people to be in the mall already..we have the same thinking ha ha ha. Naguunahan na sa mall! I will try to look also for additional accent for my costume which I hope to find in any "tela" shops like carolina's. i plan to meet rin my siblings later in the afternoon as hubby will have to attend an all-boys christmas party (high school friends.. hmm I hope they won't do anything naughty..) in the evening. By sunday, it would be another "shopping for gifts" day for me this time together with hubby na. I hope to accomplish a lot this weekend. So, wish me luck guys! :)

fun-filled night

Before I hit the sack, I would like to muse about how much fun I had tonight in our middle management meeting, the last for this year. You see, quarterly the different dept. heads from our company meet with our Group President for some "learning" sessions and some bonding time na rin as well. Since this will be the last for this year, we were told to bring a gift which we will be exchanging with our co-managers. We had a short but very interesting learning session with our president (meaning: activity) and after that, it's karaoke time!! Hay.. I just love to sing and good thing some of my fellow manager love singing too! lol So, what do you expect?! We had a mini concert hahaha. We totally enjoyed it. It was such a stress buster! But before the singing, we toast the night away for a wonderful year and we look forward to a better year ahead. Cheers One Asia!

i feel so blessed

Last tuesday, our company hold it's annual outreach program in Museo Pambata. We went there together with 30 orphans (sorry, I forgot the name of the institution taking care of them) and I must say we had a blast! It was my first time at Museo. I'm glad I joined because I was able to realize how lucky I was to have a normal and happy childhood unlike these kids who practically grew up in the orphanage. Would you believe the eldest orphan among the kids is now 21 years old?! and the youngest is 3. Just by talking to them, you'll find out how these children "crave" for attention or should I say how they badly want somebody to take care of them. One example are the boys assigned to me and my assistant, Judith during the trip, Michael and RJ. I felt that they love the attention being given to them by us. They would often look for us when we're out of their sight and most of the time, holding our arms "parang takot na mahiwalay". I tell you, it was a very humbling experience. I got to thank God for all the wonderful blessings that He has given us especially of having a loving ang caring parents. Hay.. I just hope this kids will turn out to be good persons when they grow up. Did i mention that they are not exactly "boys" na pala? They're more of teenagers na since they both are 13 years old. I will never forget this experience and hopefully, in the coming years I may be able to continue doing this outreach program not only with the company but also in my own personal capacity. Here are some of our pictures during that very tiring but fulfilling day :)

We often hear people say, "times are hard nowadays". Every peso spent should be used wisely. But no matter how we try to monitor our finances, there will be a time when we will experience shortage of funds especially this holiday season. That's why, for most people the best and easiest way to augment our financial situation is to apply for Loans whether be it personal or housing loan. There are a lot of financial instutions sprouting like mushrooms in the market today, offering "hard-to-resist" loan application. Sometimes they're already pre-approved and all you have to do is submit necessary requirements and voila! Your loan will be released to you within the next foty eight hours!

But one should be careful on choosing the right lending instution. A lot of consideration must be taken into account especially if you are intending to borrow a large sum o money. Good thing there is Nations Finanace Co. that caters to the every needs of the borrowers. With Nations Finance, you can be assured of full-services when it comes to financial since the site only wanted one thing and that is to provide the best deals for credit cards. loans, mortgages, banking , insurance and many more. meet new friends

With the advance technology we have today, meeting new friends won't be a problem. Nowadays, it's easy to meet new friends with the help of new technologies like chatting. Lately, I learned about this site that list phone numbers from around 150 countries. In this site, anybody can chat live on the phone as long as your 18 years old and above. How does this work? Well, it's easy and simple. All you have to do is call in for free and chat live! When you are off the phone you don't have to worry because you can leave Voice Personals so that others can hear you even if you're not around. These lines are called the phone chat lines. For teens, there is teen chat that they can use exclusive to meet new friends. All calls are secured as the site is not giving out phone numbers and the callers are Anonymous when they are on the system. In addition, the site also offers dating tips and advice for singles. So, why don't you visit this site and experience meeting new friends from around the globe through free chat.

My husband and I have always loved travelling. We had the most wonderful out of the country trips since our marriage. For the coming year, we plan to have more. We have't been to Thailand so my hubby gave the go signal that we might (or sure we will) be going there come March or April of next year. This made me so happy! Thus, I wasted no time and started looking for Hotel Reservations on the internet. Good thing I knew about this wonderful site, Hotel Reservations. Now, booking a hotel of your choice online is not going to be a problem with the help of Hotel Reservations. Here you can find great deals and discounts because they have the best competitive rates in the market today. Now, all I have to do is start my booking with them, and i'm pretty sure I'll have a worry-free vacation come next year.

busy week ahead

So, how's everybody doing? :)

Christmas is almost here and with that, you can expect a lot of things going on around you. The malls are full packed, gawd! and we experienced this during our recent trip to Trinoma last Sunday. Hubby almost lost his temper over the security guards at the parking area who wouldn't allow us to enter because apparently daw, parking is full. But to our dismay, when we passed by the parking when were about to turn around, we saw two available slots as in! We came back to the entrance and told the guard that there were vacant slots but no, they wouldn't allow us to enter still! WTF?! The line of cars about to enter the carpark are getting long and they wouldn't allow even one car to enter even if there's available parking already?! That pissed off my hubby! Ending, we found a parking slot at the outdoor parking na lang. It's okay na rin considering a lot of shoppers are still stuck inside their car waiting for, who knows when they will be allowed to enter the carpark. Expect the worst in the coming days as more people will troop to the malls, supermarkets and just about every place in the city. Hay! Expect also the heavy traffic! But don't get me wrong ha? I'm not complaining (konti lang, tehee!). This is all part of the Christmas rush and abnormal as it may sound, i'm loving it! Christmas won't be the same without these hassles. And that I think what makes Christmas here in Pinas more exciting :)

Anyways, it will be a busy week for me at work and home. At work, because i'll try to accomplish all my pending work within the week so that by next week medyo lie low na ako and concentrate on our christmas party presentation na lang (which btw, I don't even have a costume yet! help!). A lot of practice sessions were also scheduled in between office hours. Talk about multi-tasking, lol.

At home, because I still haven't started with my christmas shopping yet. As in wala pa akong nabibili kahit isa! except for the 2 gifts i bought for last sunday's "binyagan". Plus, I plan to make something special for Christmas eve and the day itself like bake brownies & cakes, cook pasta or something. I have to plan this pa. Oh gosh! Don't know where to start. All I know is that I better start soon or else... I'll be cramming on christmas eve! And I wouldn't want that to happen. So wish me luck!

P.S. Tomorrow will be our company's annual outreach program. It would be my first time to join and i'm quite excited. We'll be bringing children from an orphanage to Museo Pambata as a treat. I'm so glad our company decided to have it there coz I haven't seen the place yet. I've always wanted to reach out to our less fortunate brothers & sisters and this is one of the best ways to do it. I'll be posting more about this in the coming days.

A colleague of mine recently asked me if I happen to know a book or website that focuses on custom written paper as he was about to start with his dissertation for his PhD diploma. He need to have all the materials he could get for his reasearch and reference in the preparation of this requirement. It's not an easy task I know, that's why I wanted to help him. Good thing I learned about PhDWorks.Org. It's a very useful site for students from all levels whether College, Graduate or PhD. It has a custom writing services that allows students to search for subjects that were proof-read and thoroughly edited. What's more in every custom written paper, you always get free plagiarism report, unlimited amendments and recommended outline, title page and format. I'm now with PPP!!!

Finally, after the long wait, i'm now with Payperpost!! I've been waiting for my blog's approval for days now and this morning I just got my wish. You see, I've been rejected the first time I applied for some technical reasons. I was so sad at that time but it did not discouraged me to try to apply once more. But first, I fixed my blog and make sure that i'll be approved this time. Lucky for me, I did it right! Whoa! I'm so happy!

I've wanted to be with PPP since the first day I learned about it from my blog buddies. At first, I wasn't sure how it works and why a lot of bloggers wished to be approved by PPP. After doing my own research about the site and with the help of my fellow bloggers, I got interested and got hooked. I've been hearing stories about how my blogging friends are doing with paid blogging and was impressed with what they are earning! Wow! I haven't thought about the idea of being paid for doing the things that you love like blogging. It's always nice to have some extras and PPP is one great way of having it. Get paid to blog and you'll definitely get hook. With my approval, i'm pretty sure that I'll be glued to my laptop and start waiting for every available oppurtunities for me. I'm so excited I can't wait to get started.

There are a lot of paid blogging site in the net but nothing really beats Payperpost. I hope that with PPP, i'll be able to save enough for that designer bag i've been eyeing for months now or take a short out of the country trip early next year. I'm so glad PPP is here to help me achieve these plans. Thanks PPP for always providing oppurtunities not just for bloggers but also for advertisers by providing online brand building and traffic generation.

My officemates and I scheduled a visit to Camp Suki in New Manila to check out if they have costumes there that we can rent for our company party on Dec. 19. Camp Suki is known for themed-parties costume rentals so we decided to check it out. We met in Starbucks Emerald and immediately proceeded to Galleria to fetch our GM and HR Manager who'll be joining us in this "search". We got there around 2 in the afternoon and boy! were we surprised to see plenty of people already browsing through the racks of Camp Suki! And dami pala may costume-themed parties ngayon. Well, it's not a surprise anymore since a lot of companies are having their Christmas Parties in the next two weeks. So we began our search immediately. Our boss got her costume in less than 15 minutes would you believed!?. That's because she came prepared and already knew what she's looking for. Unlike us, who are still undecided as to what are we going to be, lol. Anyways, i'll be playing the role of the Snowqueen from the movie Narnia so I started looking for a white gown. Unluckily for me, I haven't found any :( I tried some gowns but it won't fit me ha ha ha. Most of us left the place empty-handed. Hay! So hard to find a costume talaga. i hope you guys could help where to get one. You're inputs/ideas will be highly appreciated.

Anyways, after that, some of us went to Metrowalk to grab a snack since we're quite hungry na. There's going to be a party later on in Metrowalk so we decided to leave na rin after having coffee in Starbucks since te place would be crowded in a little while. My officemate dropped me off Shangri-la Mall since i'll be meeting my hubby there to buy some gifts for my friend Joy's baby boy who will be baptized this sunday. I also plan to buy a christmas gift na rin for Joy's eldest who happens to be my "inaanak". I went to Rustan's and as expected it's jampacked with shoppers na rin! I've always enjoyed shopping in Rustan's. I love their service and the free gift wrapping services they provide to their clients. The downside to this lang is the long line at every gift wrapping counter. As in you they are supperrr long!! if you want your gift to be gift wrapped by them, there's a chance that you'll get your wrapped gift the following day na! I swear! For the two items that I bought (one has very big box!), I ask the sales assitant to have it wrapped for me pa rin kasi they'll be open till midnight so I hoped that my items will still be accomodated even if I have to wait that long. Well, I was wrong! The SA came back with only one gift wrapped since it was only placed inside the paper bag (my gift for the baby) and unfortunately, for my inaanak's gift (which has the big bos), they said that i'll be able to get it by tomorrow na. Hello?! I need it na by that time. So I just asked for the wrappers, ribbons and tags and told them i'll wrapped it myself even if I don't have any idea how am I going to do it, tehee. We just had dinner afterwards and went home na rin as I have to figure out pa how am I going to wrapped this big box he he he..

Went I got home, I started immediately and it wasn't that bad pala after all. Actually, gift wrapping is something that I look forward to every christmas. I enjoyed doing it a lot that I remember one time, I planned on putting up a gift wrapping business. I might consider it din in the future. I just have to keep my fingers crossed he he he. Anyways, here is my finish product. What do you think? Can I pass na ba? :)

Blog Readability

In connection with my previous post regarding common mistakes in blogging, I learned through petra's that you can actually check the readability of your blog. Meaning, you will know what level of education is required to understand your blog. So, I checked it out and got this result.....

cash advance

I think this is not bad na rin considering that I try to make my post as light and entertaining as possible with no difficult english to understand. I like it that way. Besides, i'm not much of a writer and my main goal lang naman in maintaining this blog is to have an outlet for myself and share with you guys the simple joys of my everyday life :)

Thanks to petra dear for this info!
